Brother Nelson
began a period of sabbatical in January. All those who
work with Nelson on a regular basis will attest to the fact that
a season of rest and refreshment is in order; he carries a large
load of responsibility both in public ministry and behind the
scenes. The planned length of this term is a minimum of
six months. Please pray that not only would God's will be
accomplished in Nelson's life through this time, but also that
it would be a refreshing time for the entire Coblentz family.
Also pray that God will grant Nelson the wisdom to know how to
slow down. ☺
Nelson and Sarah began singing part-time with the Marvin Beachy
family (Gospel Echoes) in 1974, and in 1976, the two families
began full-time ministry. The Coblentz family was known as
the Gospel Echoes Revival Team from 1979-1983, singing in
weekend prison crusades with former inmates Don Price and Rommi Loud
as evangelists.
In 1983, Nelson was ordained as an evangelist, and in 1984, the
Gospel Express executive board was established, forming Gospel
Express Evangelistic Team. It was started for the purpose
of honoring the great commission given in Matthew 28:19-20:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
The family continued to travel in full-time ministry until 2001.
Nelson & Sarah, Megan, Annie, and Annie's husband Rendall
still sing on a part-time basis at public ministry functions and prison crusades. Nelson serves the ministry in various
capacities, both here in the States and overseas.
Apart from evangelical ministry, he assist with ministry public
relations, recording, and scheduling.
Annie and Rendall live in Tryon, NC, and have four children,
Brooke, Andrew, Miah, and Kaid. Carolyn and Chad Yoder
live in Arthur, IL, with their two children, Blake and Ava.
Carolyn continues to share her gift of singing with her home
church in Champaign, IL. Amy works is a paramedic, and Emily has worked at a local
veterinary hospital for the past five years. Both Amy and
Emily continue to use their musical gifts through their home
church in SC.
The Coblentz family's newest recording, Thank You,
was made in April 2006.
You may order it by printing out an
